The valley I live in has a weather phenomenon every winter called inversion. It’s where the pressure traps the cold air in the valley floor, and the mountains are actually warmer than the valleys. An unfortunate side-effect of inversion is that the pollution also gets trapped in the valley, making the valley very smoggy and hazy, and the air toxic to people with pulmonary disorders such as asthma. Luckily, my family and I don’t have anything like that. As a photographer, I like to see the beauty in every situation, and I was definitely treated with inversion’s silver lining this morning on my way to work.
